Additional Services

A meet and greet introductory appointment (no bathing or grooming).
This service is suitable for dogs that are particularly nervous and/or never had a professional groom.
This short appointment will allow the dog and I to be introduced to one another and will enable me to determine whether the dog may be suitable for future appointments.
The aim is to build up some trust and confidence, to create a positive experience for the dog.
*If booking for a puppy up to the age of 6 months, please book the PUPPY PACKAGE.

For certain types of coats, mild matting can be inevitable - even when you’re brushing regularly. Matting in the coat can become very painful and cause serious skin conditions if not managed/treated.
This service is offered purely where matting is mild and when it will not cause the dog stress and/or anxiety to spend time working on the coat.
It should be noted that de-matting is not always an option and that the coat may need to be taken down to an all-over smoothie to relieve the dog of any discomfort.
Please be assured that when undertaking a professional assessment, your dog’s health and well-being will always be put first and that you will be kept fully informed.

For dogs with casting coats.
Specialist tools and products used to de-shed the coat so that your dog not only looks great, but it will reduce the amount of casting. That means less hair on your clothes and less hoovering!
-
A grooming technique that involves removing dead hairs from the coat by hand to achieve a healthy, tidy coat and a natural look.
If you’re unsure whether your dog should be hand-stripped - it’s all about the type of coat rather than the breed of dog - we will be happy to discuss your grooming requirements and offer guidance on this.
A few breeds that have a coat that can be hand-stripped include (but not limited to):
Airedale Terrier
Border Terrier
Cairn Terrier
Cocker Spaniel
German Wirehaired Pointer
Irish Wolfhound
Schnauzer
Scottish Terrier
West Highland Terrier
Wirehaired Dachshund
Wirehaired Vizsla
How regularly you have your dog hand-stripped is dependent on your desired look and hair growth of your dog. We will work with you to assess what is necessary for your dog’s coat/skin health.
-
Nails trimmed using a clipper or nail dremel (whichever your dog prefers).
Maintaining your dogs nails is essential for their foot health, as overgrown nails can cause pain, discomfort and infection in cases.
-
Introduce your pup to the grooming salon from a young age to get them used to the salon environment.
The package includes 3 visits to the salon so they can become familiar with the sights, smells and sounds. Your pup will get used to being handled, bathed, blow dried, having their teeth cleaned and their nails trimmed.
This gradual approach to grooming provides a positive experience for your dog, so-much-so, they will look forward to coming back for their next pamper.
